Seed head

Seed head
This seed head managed to remain intact for 2 days.  It was hiding underneath the bridge where there was obviously no draught at all.

Swallows fleeing
I could hear them and I really couldn't miss seeing them either. Lots of swallows. Some were feeding and others were gathering on nearby roof tops and.... aerials!

Did we have 2 hatchings this year? I don't know, perhaps they were just late because of the strange weather.

This gang was sitting on the aerial and ignored me as I took photos from below until, just as I took this shot, a door slammed. This was the result.

Prinsendam meets Calmac in Oban

Prinsendam meets Calmac 2/3
Calmac ferry 'MV Isle of Mull' sailing past Holland America's 'Prinsendam' on her way into Oban today.

The original destination was supposed to be Fort William but it was changed some weeks ago. Looking at the size of the cruise ship, can you imagine what she would have looked like in the Corran Narrows? if she fitted through... that is.

Sunset over Loch na h-Achlaise

Rannoch Moor sunset 1/3
Heading west across Rannoch Moor on Friday evening at the end of a warm sunny day.  The sunset was spectacular and we were just travelling fast enough to get several different photographs.

Taken from the moving car but I wasn't driving
